Thanks to some sterling work by the local Openreach team, Pwll-y-Faedda bed and breakfast now boasts ultra-fast gigabit full fibre broadband! 🙂
No simple job for our rural location, temporary traffic lights closed the main A470 trunk road while the engineers fed fiber optic cable overhead across the highway and then down the bank to our fishing lodge by the river Wye. The results were worth it though with our internet download speeds immediately improving from the old 20 Mbps to an amazing 850 Mbps; not too shabby for our location in the country in mid-Wales.
So our guests visiting the Hay Festival in Hay-on-Wye or Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells can now access the internet and their back-office systems at full speed. WiFi is available throughout the property and in and around the patio area and the fishing hut.
